All members of Illinois State University, including students, faculty, and staff,have access to Office 365. Office 365 is a cloud-based Microsoft productivity suite that gives you access to Microsoft services and software such as email, calendaring, Microsoft Office suite, OneDrive, Office Online, and other features.
Office 365 email can be accessed through the web, or using desktop email clients (such Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Apple Mail and the Windows Mail app), as well as via mobile devices. Office 365 email is the email and calendaring service for campus.
Your Office 365 calendar lets you create and track appointments and meetings. You can create multiple calendars, link to other people's calendars, and even share your calendar with other people in your organization. The Office 365 calendaring tool will sync directly with your Outlook calendar. You can also add your Office 365 calendar to supported mobile devices.

Microsoft Office is a productivity suite that includes common applications like Word and PowerPoint. Office 365 allows students, faculty, and staff to download and install the latest version of Microsoft Office for Windows and Mac OS X.
The latest version of Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Windows includes Word 2016, PowerPoint 2016, Excel 2016, OneNote 2016, Outlook 2016, Access 2016, Publisher 2016, Skype for Business 2016, and OneDrive for Business 2016.
The latest version of Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Mac OS X includes Word 2016, PowerPoint 2016, Excel 2016, OneNote 2016, and Outlook 2016. Also available for installation is Lync for Mac 2011 (for OS X 10.10 Yosemite) or Skype for Business for Mac 2016 (for OS X versions 10.11 El Capitan and later).
The latest versions of Microsoft Office also have some compatible apps for mobile devices.
OneDrive allows you to upload and sync files to cloud-based storage and then access the files from a web browser on your computer or from an app on your mobile device. You will have one terabyte (1000 GB)of storage on your Illinois State OneDrive account.
Office Online is an online Microsoft Office suite which allows you to create and edit files using web-based versions of Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint and more. Office Online provides "light weight" versions of Microsoft Office, which means that only the most-used features are available. Office Online is accessible on both Windows and Mac OS X computers. Files stored in your OneDrive library can be edited using Office Online.
